Because Sometimes Being a Grown Up is Just Hard

I've decided I wouldn't mind going back and being a little kid. I could macaroni and cheese, play outside all day, and my greatest concern would be if I could convince my mom to let me get something from the ice cream truck. PA school is hard. Being a grown up is hard. So...This week, for my treat, Alan surprised me. He took me somewhere magical. Somewhere mysterious. Somewhere where a kid can be a kid!

I've never been...

I was really good at this game...

And he was really good at this one...

I love the little boy playing with him!

We won the jackpot!!!! Next stop--VEGAS!!!

Kid check! Yeah Baby!!

Our winnings...I got a snazzy ring, our cool glasses, and this big gooshy green ball

And on the Fourth of July, here's the post-op scoop!...

Our fajita celebration. They were divine!

Dinner for Two, Made by Two...PS--I don't recommend fat free cream cheese-- NAST

Our Strip Scrabble game...He's used to me winning...What can I say? I know lots of words!

So, overall--we've had a blast...the only thing that make it more perfect day--would be having you here to share it!!! It's Saturday, I'm off to the Anatomy Lab to work on our body--I hope you have more planned for your day than I do!:0) Remember what it was like to be a kid? Try it out today. You'll sleep better, I promise!

Life Needs a Little Frosting

Our Treat this week: One large Cinnabon-the pecan kind.

I had no idea it would give me such energy! You'd think they'd start selling this instead of coffee in the vending machines...

2 hours later, I crashed...

If you wanna make me smile...

Easy...This one gets me everytime, and it is the perfect description of how I feel today. Check out bass man playa's beard! Love it! hehe... I have no classes on Monday, which means I have Today, Tomorrow, And Monday to really just study without another care in the world....I get to hang around my BFF/Husband, learning about the stuff that is going to help me cure the world:0), and just 'chill'...There's no greater feeling. We hung around outside a lot today, it's gorgeous, and we had the best Chicago style Hot Doags in the world (we'll take you there anytime you visit!) Also--as a side note- I have successfully completed 21 days, as of Today--of getting up, showering, and getting ready/dressed for the day! Make up and all! I know--it's a miracle! You won't believe the difference it makes to my education...Who knew I could be cute day after day!?! It just takes a little effort! So--I'm taking a break right now from my lectures...I think I'll listen to my Baby James soundtrack while I catch up on some notes. Loving and missing you as always...Today is as nearly perfect a day as it could be ... all we need is you!

You've Got a Friend

Sigh...It's been a Sweet Baby James kinda week. Every morning, on my way to school, I get a personal performance from him, and the world is right. Thanks James for making my days...

Fun Facts

PA School--Week 3

Did you know...

Ring Around the Rosies...A Pocket full of Posies...Ashes, ashes, we all fall down!

Is actually a little rhyme about the Bubonic Plague! Who knew?! Apparently, the ring describes the appearance of a 'ring' on affected people's skin. People believed it was spread through the air, so they carried flowers in the coat pockets to breathe in as they walked around...Hmmm....

This just in...

I will be providing "fun facts" and a picture to describe them as I go along in my educational career.

No pics, but Barbers were actually the first surgeons. The red stripe down the pole resembled blood spilling down someone's arm as a special procedure was done known as blood letting. I didn't know cutting hair held such prestige! It's possible excessive blood letting aided in the early death of our dear George Washington.

Life is tough. I did pretty bad on my first exams--but I am getting the hang of How to Learn the material. I feel like I knew just about everything about everything for these past exams, but I barely passed, because I knew too much about the 'wrong stuff!' At least I passed...

As our special treat at the end of week 2, and as a little help for my test on Monday, last Saturday we went with some friends of ours, Kyle (2nd year Med Student) and his wife, Arielle (prego 7 mos:0)--to the Chicago Temple. It was a blast. Maybe that's why I feel ok about my scores. I know I did all I could, and I definitely know the info--Things will be fine. That's what I love about the temple. The peace that comes with attending. It's gorgeous--here are the highlights...

A perfect little distraction from the world...

Looks kind of like Dallas, huh?

By Small and Simple Means....

So...I started PA school....it's beyond intense! I have thus decided to update my blog each week with a 'small and simple thing' that makes it bearable:0) This week:

I chose a Peanut Buster Parfait from DQ because it was a "Nut Buster" of a week:0)

Scrabble to soothe a sore brain...

Maybe, this will help you understand...these are my books for my first quarter only!

A trip into the city for real Chicago style Hot Dogs!

BLUE BELL ICE CREAM!!! We had chocolate nachos, and they were divine

We made a fort to protect me from the world of dissection, endless study, and lots of sleep deprived people!

We went to the Museum of Science and Technology! It was great!

No time for 'clowning around' in PA school

We Even Found the Chicago Temple!...hehe
