Snapshots

10 months of my life... Let me show you how it went!

and just a few hours later

Yep...that's a load of laundry in the background waiting to be folded.

Sometimes, things go really well during the week, and I get to celebrate with good friends and good food...

Alan caught me. This is why the bed is not the place to study--however inviting it may seem.

Study, dining room, and bedroom during finals week...I pass out on the air mattress to get a couple hours sleep before going at it again.

Is it worth it? Absolutely.

America

Here's what I love about our country:
1. Wendy's Jr Bacon Cheeseburger for $1.29
2. 44 oz drinks at the gas station for a mere $0.62
3. Dollar Theatres
4. Running trails through the forest preserves
5. The freedom to go out in public looking like this:

Yay for America!
It was a John Wayne theme for the guys attending "Man-richment Night"... The guys went to see True Grit

Will you be my....?

The rose he bought me...He said "It's a single rose because you are the single most important thing in my life. Don't forget it." Oh, my heart.

Happy Valentine's Day! I figured I have missed quite a bit, and although there is a lot of catching up to do with pics, etc, I better jump right in with the 'here and now.' Well, I'll tell the whole story later, but Alan has had a job for a few weeks now, and we are so happy! He is still getting used to the whole "long day's work" idea again, but overall, we are tired and happy people. Of course, just because he is now employed does not mean we are 'raking in the dough' or anything of the sort, so for Valentine's Day, we both looked up what we would send each other on the internet, filled out the little message cards, got all the info in as if we were about to buy it all, and then showed each other our oh-so-thoughtful ideas.
I got the most beautiful arrangement of flowers, and Alan received a gift basket of gourmet cookies hand delivered to his office by a messenger! The cookies were conversion type--and said things like "I'm crazy for you" and "Be Mine" on them. I thought I was very sweet:) We feel like it was a brilliant expression of our love to show each other what we would like to get while respecting our budget! It was like making money when we cancelled it all out. Anyhow, overall it was a lovely day. I had class from 8 to 4, went grocery shopping, and made it home in time to make Alan a maybe-not-so-gourmet rice crispie cake, and then off to pick him up from the train. We picked up two cheeseburger happy meals with the toys, watched "Life as We Know It" (HIGHLY recommend it....), and he, of course, fell asleep. That led me to blogging, and soon bed.
I'd say it was a fairly successful evening, and all I know is I am so grateful I have a wonderful husband who tries to make me happy every day. He sacrifices so much for me and I just adore him. SO, here's to Love....
