Losing Lorraine...Gaining a Stronger Testimony

As there are so many ways to read the entire story of my dear Mother-in-Law's passing, Lorraine Ricker, I will keep this post simple. Pictures best express the feelings that were shared and felt between family and close friends of Lorraine, so here's the story...

Back on Wednesday, unpacked through the night,
Left for Houston at 1am...Blow out happened around
8 pm...and the spare didn't fit the lugnuts...figures...
after a long search--we found an amazing man
by the name of Javier who got us taken care of. Got in
around midnight--Becca's travels got her in about the
same time. It was a long day...

We were there a week ahead of time because we felt
the need to be there for Andrea's prom. She was truly
beautiful, and although we could never replace her mother,
we felt priveleged to try and fill some small void, and help
make her day great...

Post make up

Her dress was beautiful, but the converse
showed her real personality!

Rockstar!
They were just adorable together

Meet the Family:

These were the people that helped Lorraine through
her chemo treatments. They are considered family
This group of staff were her radiation team. They
were such a support to her, as well as Andy and the
family... THANKYOU!

Ring this bell, three times well, the toll to clearly say:
My treatment's done, This course is run, And I am On My Way

We repainted the bedroom a really nice green color
Fresh paint, fresh start...Although we will never stop
loving you Lorraine.
THE VIEWING...

Becca and I designed this arrangement
ourselves. Yes, there are real goldfish in
the vases!!
My favorite portrait of those two.

THE FUNERAL SERVICE/INTERIM

My heart ached for Alan, but I know he felt it a
blessing to be able to serve his Mother

All of the pallbearers left their flowers

Lorraine's brothers (L) Steve, (R) Fred
Grandma and Aunt Caroline...the morning we left
Talking to Andrea about college, and final goodbyes
